National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) extends women's lives through education about breast cancer and early detection. The organization provides hope to women and families affected by breast cancer through a community of caring support and encouragement that enables those diagnosed with breast cancer to have fulfilling lives during their treatment and afterward.
National Breast Cancer Foundation is a nonprofit, charitable foundation headquartered in Frisco, Texas, just north of Dallas. The Foundation exists to save lives by providing access to free and low-cost mammograms for those with limited resources, increased awareness through continuing education programs and online community support programs.
NBCF constantly strives to expand efforts to reach women and give them hope with life-saving education and mammography services.
The heartbeat of National Breast Cancer Foundation is to touch the lives of those who may not be able to help themselves. The Foundation establishes and builds relationships with hospitals and clinics across the country to reach out to the surrounding communities, especially to underinsured women who might not otherwise have access to mammograms. As a trusted charity, NBCF furthers health facilities' missions by providing easy-to-understand breast cancer education and mammograms for needy women. NBCF provided more than 22,000 free mammograms for underinsured women in America in 2006.
The Foundation also supports cancer research, primarily through a relationship with The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, and research programs at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
