We all know someone who has either suffered from or survived the deadly disease of breast cancer. I myself lost my mother to this illness when I was 13 years old. It is not an easy experience to live through, no matter if it is you going through it yourself, or if it is one of your loved ones.

In brighter spirits, I am happy to announce that an event I've been creating in regards to this issue is finally coming together, and will be premiering at The WitZend Live on August 28th 2014, 7-9pm.

"The Siren Song" is an enchanting singer/songwriter show celebrating women and music. This event’s purpose is to spotlight female powerhouse performers while also acting as a fundraiser for furthering the studies and awareness of breast cancer.

Our lineup of music makers:
Erin BeatyJill Dawson, & me, Madlyn

This event provides an opportunity not only for artists involved to share their musical gifts, but for all of us, both performer and audience member, to be part of something bigger than ourselves. I am so filled with joy and couldn't be more thankful that all performers & musicians involved with putting this together have been wonderful enough to donate 100% of their time for FREE - #blessed. #gratitude.

Tickets to attend "The Siren Song" are $10 and can be purchased at 3 different places:

Why Sirens: Always intrigued by Greek mythology, the mysterious women known as The Sirens, whose beautiful voices and songs enchanted all who heard them, seemed to be the perfect inspiration. Their appeal had more to do with what they sounded like, versus what they looked like. At The Siren Song, we are more interested in a woman’s beautifully captivating song than anything else. It is all about the music. (Thank you dear friend & writing partner Amy Gans for having the original thought behind this theme).

It would mean the world to all of us who have had a part in making this happen if you and your loved ones were there. :)
