Undetected Source...cancer in lymph

by deniser on 4/21/2008 at 12:47 pmin category Tell Your Story
During annual mamogram...detected two enlarged lymph nodes. Biopsy confirmed cancer in lymph nodes but doctors have not been able to find cancer source in breasts. Doctors are 95%% sure it is breast cancer (tested for all cancers..all came out negative, including blood work). We still have not found the source.

I'm currently in the middle of chemo. Following that I will have surgery to remove lymphs. Most likely will have radiation. The huge question right now is should I have a double mascectomy to be sure all cancer is killed?

Any feedback from those who have faced similar situations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!
