Hello! Anyone had horrible nausea and neutropenia on a/c and done fabulous on taxol? Looking for less or no nausea and a little bone pain that I can deal with. Just wanted some feedback from someone that had had a difficult time on a/c then could tell me how they did on the taxol. I go in for the first of 4 taxols if my bloodwork has improved since Monday. My WBCs were zero so I look for some improvement in that!
Having a very difficult time at the end of the a/c and hoping for some light at the end of the tunnel and hoping to be more functional through the taxol.
Thanks to anyone who would like to respond!
Sherri

I reacted to the treatment so they gave me extra benadryl and steroids, which one, made me very sleepy after treatment and two, put on a little weight form the steroids. I lost the weight within two months so don't worry about that. I did four rounds every other week. It is interesting to read how often other treatments are administered. I can tell you that if you react to it, shortness of breath, flushing, it may be as simple as really slowing down the administration of the drug and you may not need extra steroids. I know that every time they tried to hurry the treatment I reacted, so if this happens insists that they slow the drip down.
Good luck, remember you are half way home.
