Hello,
This is my first time on and I am sorry to say I need some help asap. I had the first surgery for IDC on March 31. They found a 3cm tumor and excised it; no lymph node involvement. I had to return for more surgery on April 14th to clear margins, followed by mammosite radiation starting on April 28th.
I had a oncotypeDX test with a recurrence score of 15 - unfortunatly it falls in a gray area for chemo. I was told that by taking chemo it would only add 3-4%%. If I do chemo and hormonal therapy, (I plan on doing the hormonal therapy) the percentage for both modalities would be 5-6%%. I have had two opinions and both have told me that the decision has to be mine. How is a lay person suppose to decide this??? I am scared, undecised and I don't know what to do. I MUST make a decision by the end of the week or I will miss the window to have chemo if I should decide to have it. Is there anyone out there who has been in the same type of situation??? I would appreciate feedback. I am 53 years old.
