Family Support

by catsvette on 10/9/2007 at 3:55 pm in Supporters - Friends & Family
My husband has been by my side every minute from the initial recall of the mammo (we got the call in the car), all the surgeries and dr. appointments,he takes the whole week off after my chemo to be with me.
Last night he came with me to a Haven Breast Cancer night at our local spa. He was there right along 20 women getting a facial and asking questions to other survivors. Taking recipies from the hospital nutritonist, swaping stories.
I love him for this, but thank godness he went to work today!!!! So I sent away for a tee shirt that reads... Real Men Wear Pink. He is a true supporter.

Kathleen - He sounds like a keeper. I would love to have seen him at the spa. Did you take any photos? My husband Tom has truly been my rock and always looks for the good in things. His Dad died from cancer when he was just 6 years old so I think he always thought it would be him that got it and it ended up being me. He only had one rough day early on but he keeps me upbeat. From the day I was diagnosed he started bringing found good luck pennies "pennies from heaven". He even jumped out at a drive thru to get some and I think the girl in the window thought he was insane.

It makes all the difference in the world to have the love and support that you and I have.

Take care and glad you got to enjoy spa day,
Julie
