A long-overdue update

I haven't been online in quite a while. Radiation has been kicking my butt, althugh it is almost over now. Only 3 more sessions and I am done! Yay!

I have quite a case of radiation dermatitis at the moment, and am taking Percocet for the discomfort.

My holidays were excellent. My son turned 3 on December 30th, and we had a wonderful party for him. He started school last week, in fact. Only 2 days a week, and only 4 hours a day, but it is hard for me to put him on the bus and be away from him!

I saw my onc last week as well, and am on the 3-month visit schedule now... As soon as I get the all-clear from the radiation onc, I am scheduling the removal of my chemotherapy port. And when that is done, I am getting my tattoo! Woot!

Glad to hear from you. I haven't been on much lately either. Glad you are almost through. I finished radiation just before Thanksgiving and did really well but over the holidays I developed some allegic reaction to something and wound up on Predisone for 2 weeks. That was interesting. All clear now and started Tamoxifen last week. So far no side effects but I am waiting for the hot flashes. I just started a cancer welfit program at the hospital and it is great. I tried to talk my radiation team in to some cool tattoo but only got tiny dots. Oh well. Happy birthday to your son. My baby turned sweet 16 yesterday. Hard to believe.

Welcome back and Hurray your almost done radiation! I start on Wednesday. I think tomorrow I get the tattoo's. I don't ask much, I really don't want to know! . I will have my port in for another year :(. Happy birthday to your son. Wow! Mine will be 21 soon. Thats the baby. Keep going girl almost done this mess.
