A Whole New World

by Jess13 on 3/11/2008 at 7:47 pm in Treatment
I found out last Monday (3-3-08) that I have Infiltrating Ductile Breast Cancer. I had a lumpectomy on Thursday (3-6-08). I am still a little sore and swollen, but I'm okay. I am suppose to see the Oncologist Monday (3-17-08) and set up my Chemo & Radiation treatments. I'm 30 years old and I don't really know what to think. I have a husband and 2 small kids, so I am trying to stay positive.

You have to stay positive....that is so important! Are you getting chemo because you had lymph nodes that were affected? Please make sure you have a list of questions for the oncologist. Every time you think of something, write it down....you would be surprised how much you forget by the time you get there. I'm sure this is a very hard time for you right now. I can remember the first time I heard the "C" word....it was devastating!!! But you have to remain strong!!! This is a great site for comfort and support, so jump on anytime you need to. I've also gotten a wealth of information from my breast cancer sisters here....everyone is great!
Any info I could help you with, please let me know. My thoughts are with you!
