38 years old, diagnosed at 37, married, mother of 3, ages 14, 12 and 5.
Diagnosed at 37years with Stage III, all receptors negative, positive for the BRCA1. Very aggressive cancer, but luckily my bone scan and CT scan were negative. I will have a bi-lateral masectomy with reconstruction. Also will have my ovaries removed. Bi-lateral done on 2/13/08, relieved that cancer should be completely gone, still waiting for pathology report, but of course very emotional. Went for my post surgery 2/25/08, pathology report came back clear, yeah! Ovaries removed on 04/02/08, pathology report came back with no signs of cancer, so I'm still going strong. 7/7/08 started my reconstruction, with expanders. I now consider myself a survivor, it's been 1 year since I was diagnosed. 7/15/08 Few steps back, guess I need radiation afterall, looks like cancer came back. 7/29/08 surgery again, will remove expander on right side so I can have radiation. Had my surgery, they took out 90% of my rt pectorial muscle in order to get clear margins. Hopefully, pathology report will comeback showing clear margins and there will be no need for any additional surgeries.
