What should i expect This is all new to me and im really lost.. it has only been 2 weeks since i was diagnosed and ive already seen the medical and radiation docs and i also have met with the surgen i still have to see the plastic surgen. What should i expect..I dont know what kind of chemo or radiations im going to have.. Im having a full masectomy done on my right breast.. Where should i start or what questions should i ask? LauraI know the whirlwind you are in...I am 3 weeks post op, found out I had breast cancer 10 days prior to that on Feb 1st. I got on the computer and looked up every word on my pathology report and made a list of questions for the doctor. What did your path. report say you were diagnosed with? That is the first step. If you are not comfortable with any of your doctors, change them. This is a sensitive time and you need to feel comfortable with all your doctors, they are going to be present in your life for quite some time and it isn't like you can just stop in the middle of a surgery or reconstruction or chemo or radiation and locate someone else. Find a local source or cancer group and get referrals. You must trust them. If you need some help diagnosing your pathology reports, I can help you or there are so many women here that can too. I chose to have a double mastectomy even though my biopsy on my left breast was negative and I am glad I did...I did have early cancer in the left as well, so I was just a ticking time bomb waiting to explode.
