About Me

I am the creator of the BeMitt Breast Self-exam tool. I am an active supporter of breast cancer research, treatment and probably most importantly, promoting self awareness!
I have fibrocystic breasts which develop lumps (so far the two I have had removed were benign). My 21 year old daughter has unfortunately inherited "the breast lump thing" from me and had a lump the size of a plum removed at the tender age of 20! It was found at her annual exam. If she had been educated on the importance of BSE, and how to perform a thorough BSE, chances are that she would have located this lump at a much earlier stage and we all know that size does matter in the case of malignancies! Hers, fortunately, was benign as well. Many of my friends have been diagnosed with breast cancer, and early detection was key to their survival and treatment options.
