About Me

I am 57 years old, very physically active (former competitive triathlete). I love the outdoors! Hiking, biking (all over Europe), snowshoeing, x-country skiing, gardening and working on our property brings me so much joy. I was diagnosed the summer of 2007, extensive DCIS, lumpectomy pathology showed microinvasion, grade 3. SLNB node negative. I changed my action plan from 35 R.T. to bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. One of the best decisions I ever made. I have been married to a wonderful man for 36 years. We still feel like a couple of kids in love. Final procedure (tattoo) will be done on Aug. 8th. Life is indeed good and I plan to live it to the fullest. I will deal with whatever comes my way. I feel very fortunate to have been given another chance. The cancer was aggressive, if another year went by before detection, it may have given me a not as good prognosis.
