Chemo Side Effects

by Joycie on 2/23/2008 at 12:21 pmin category Survivors
I was diagnosed in May 2006 with breast cancer, had a right breast lumpectomy and lymphnode dissection with one node positive for cancer. I have lymphedema of the right hand. I have had restless leg syndrome for a number of years. After chemo treatments ended October 2006, the rls symptoms seemed to get worse and more often. I developed carpal tunnel in my left hand, trigger thumb of the left hand, pain in the bottom of my feet and now my right hand is beginning to go numb. My question, is it normal for chemo symptoms to appear months or years after chemo has ended?

Hi Joycie- Reading breast cancer websites it seems chemo does many thing to your body and sometimes years after. I just finished my last treatment in December so I don't know what to expect! So far so good. Maybe a your DR. or the American Cancer Society can answer your questions better. Love and support..
