Full Name: Karen
I Am A: Patient
Birthdate: Jul 1
Location: Lindale, Texas
I was diagnosed on March 5th 2007 with Poorly Dif. Invacive Carcinoma(please excuse my spelling) Because my tumor was over 5cm I started with 4 rounds of chemo. At first it was going great the tumor shrunk to about 3cm. Then all of a sudden it grew to 6cm whithin a couple weeks. So on June 6th I had a right mastectomy and also had 24 of my axilary nodes taken out. The result of the surgery is that there is "more disease than they had imagined" plus 4 of the nodes were taken over by the tumor.
So I am now in what seems like the 2nd phase of fighting this. I was able to see a specialist and she along with my other Dr's have come up with the next plan of action. I am waiting to heal from my surgery and then I will start chemo again. If all is well, then radiation and from there wait till the time reconstruction is an opton.
I know I didn't really go into alot of detail but how can you write every thing down? I've had great support. Husband, Family and Friends thus far, but am heading to a time where all that support for different reasons will be more distant than I would like it to be.

I did respond well to chemo but we did know that it is involved in my lymph nodes. I do know that I too will need radiation but everything is up in the air right now until I meet with more doctors.
I know what you mean about having a great support sytem and am also looking forward to that time when it will be a distant memory!!
