2nd Port

by Lori on 3/10/2008 at 2:56 pmin category Tell Your Story
Have had to (my request actually) reinput a new port for the remainder of my Herceptin treatments. Surgery was over 3 weeks ago and the site is still very tender/sore, especially on the right side of the port. Anyone else had any issues with a 2nd port put in at the same location as the 1st port? Driving me nuts, wonder if I made a mistake in having a new port put in, but veins were not cooperating with the treatments and was sick of being poked multiple times each time I had a treatment - anyone? I had a 2nd port put in at the same site. Mine broke so I did not have a choice. The port area was always tender/sore. I think it is just having a 'foreign' object in your body. I was excited when I was told it could come out. hope you don't have to have it in for long.
