My Journey continues

Since Sunday, my blessings have been overflowing. I am at peace with my pending surgery and can now discuss it without tearing up. My sleep is still not restful, but when I do wake up, I just pray to the father for this love and that he continues to bless those sisters that are going through the same ordeal and my family and friends.

The Surgery/Reconstructive Surgery will be on the same day, thanks to my surgeon; he was persistent with getting everything scheduled together. I am truly blessed to have him as my doctor. I feel confidant that my care is in the best hands possible and that I will be fine.

Today I went for my pre-admission testing and instructions; it was somewhat unnerving, but everyone was patient and understanding.

Tomorrow will be another good day for I am blessed with family, extended family, great friends and a wonderful husband.

I had my surgery as scheduled and have begun the healing process. I am not sure of the date that chemo will start, my doctor wants me to heal more, I think in about 4 weeks.

I feel fine and just have to be patient until the next phase, I am also adjusting to having breast-cancer even though it was removed. So many steps to recovery, but I am not giving up hope.

I will say my prayers for all of you and pray that you have a speedy recovery and become cancer free.

Good luck with your surgery. I think your attitude and confidence in your medical team are half the battle. It sounds like you have a strong faith and I know that and your family support will carry you through. Praying for you, Julie

Dear LueBrown, Many prayers are going out to you, especially mine. Faith in our Physicians, Husbands, Family and Friends are what it is all about. So many advances have been made in Breast Cancer Research and with each other's support, all of us will get through this. Hopefully a cure will be found so that our daughters and grand-daughters will not have to face this illness. God Bless You!
