I went yesterday 8/8/07 to the Oncologist and im not happy. My blood count is low.He ask if i have an infection or be pregnant [no] hes thinking i have a thyroid problem wont find out till i go back on 9/5/07. Ive been tired ,nauseated and dizzy.Thats all for now.

Elaina - I was anemic before I found out about my cancer so I know what it's like to have an extremely low blood count. I have gotten mine back up by taking Slow Fe (much better than straight iron). I will be thinking about you on the 5th. Good luck and feel better soon. Julie

I was diagnosed with the same kind of cancer in the same breast, i am induring 6mo on chemo then surgery full mast, and then radaition...were u estrogen positive when they found it first? Maybe you should go for a second opinion. It doesnt sound like a lot of prevent meds were done to you. Would like to hear back ...Love and support Wanda

9-5-07 seems so long from now? What are they doing in the meantime for you? If you need to be pushy with them, DO IT for yourself - courage to you, Lori

I had the same problem my oncologist gave me procrit to help with the low blood count. I also went to my primary care physician to discuss my problem. He order some blood work and a thyroid scan I also had these reports sent to my oncologist. My PCP and oncologist touched base and believed that with all the chemo and radation effected my thyroid. About 7 weeks after I finished chemo my pcp order another blood test to check my thyroid and it came back negative for a thyroid problem.

Good luck with your appointment in september. I will keep you in my prays.
