About Me

At the age of 35 I was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in site. Some say it's not really cancer, some say it is. The recommendations were lumpectomy with radiation or mastectomy. After genetic studies and confirmation of my BRCA1 status, I chose bilateral mastectomy. I am the divorced mother of four children. My significant other and I were devastated with the suggestion of hysterectomy as well. With the doctors okay, we are having a baby and then the surgery six weeks later.
