chemotherapy

Hi everyone:

I will be starting chemotherapy in a couple days for breast cancer and I would like to know does chemotherapy and radiation treatment cause weight gain? And if so, does it cause a signifcant amount of weight gain or not much?

My oncologist said that with most breast cancer chemo's, cause weight gain and if you feel ill, I think we tend to eat more than normal, just trying to get something that agrees with us. Guess the weight gain should be the least of our worries, but it does add to the stress of the whole thing. I'm now finished with chemo and radiation and will still have Herceptin every 3 weeks until July. Trying to start a walking program and watch what I eat so I can start to lose this weight - But trying not to let it control my every thought, again, more things to be concerned about other than a couple of lbs. well, I was on A/C and Taxol for 16 weeks and I did not gain any weight on the scale but did feel bloated. I think it was the steroids. Good Luck to you, and remember to not skip a nauseau pill.
