Breast Cancer Screening Methods

by Stephanie on 6/12/2007 at 2:47 pmin category Early Detection
Here is some of the information I picked up while doing some research on early detection of breast cancer:

Methods
• Mammogram
• Clinical Breast Exam
• Breast Self-Exam

Age and Frequency

20-39
• Clinical breast exam: Every three years
• Breast self-exam: Once a month

40 and older
• Mammogram: Once a year
• Clinical breast exam: Once a year
• Breast self-exam: Once a month

You can find step-by-step breast self-exam (BSE) instructions at www.komen.org/bse.

What are some other good things to know about early detection?
