Yesterday ABC's Good Morning America host Robin Roberts announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Roberts explains that her cancer was not detected in her mammogram, but was detected in a sonogram. She believes it is very important for women to get both of these tests in order to avoid misdiagnoses.

I hope that by Roberts speaking out about her diagnosis, she will inspire more women to get their yearly mammograms and perform their at home breast exams.
