Waiting

This waiting is killing me. I'm the type of person who always helped others, fixed whatever I could, do it now. This waiting is the worse. Anyone else have problems waiting?

I know that different areas and sizes of facilities in the US are different. Either way, you physician who orders the mammo, then US-should have results readily available after dictation from the Radiologist. Follow up with politeness, yet persistance if you have a diagnostic reason for your test. If its a routine annual mammo-your results should be within a week. The physician is the one who can get your results-do not look to the hospital. Waiting is extremely nerveracking for most women sometimes just on their annual. If you're following a problem within your breast, speak with your docs office and if no results yet-go on with a wonderful day. I hope this helps only as additional info-please stay positive.

Hi Wandason,
Yes the waiting is horrible. I spent the whole month of June and the first week in July waiting on mammo, ultrasound, and biopsy results to find out I have DCIS (early stage, thankfully). I wish the medical community would come up with a way to eliminate the waiting-- surely we have the technology available if they could only match the manpower with it in getting us our results faster. The waiting, in my opinion, is the worst part of it all, and is so unnecessary! Good luck to you!
