Comprehensive Breast Care Program at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital
Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) has been serving greater Brattleboro and the tri-state area since 1904. Its Comprehensive Breast Care Program provides top-notch breast care services in a friendly and professional environment. To ensure each patient receives personalized and compassionate care, BMH has implemented a nurse navigation program for those who have suspected or known breast cancer. BMH’s Nurse Navigator supports women in their physical, mental, and spiritual recovery, and serves as a resource for patients and their families to answer questions, access specialists, and coordinate additional services.
"We are thrilled to have grant support from the National Breast Cancer Foundation for our breast nurse navigator program at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. This grant assists our nurse navigator in reaching out to women who are having difficulty accessing and affording breast care services. Radio advertising was particularly successful in reaching women in the rural areas of Windham County, VT. It was heartening to see so many women get the care needed once the barriers of cost and transportation were alleviated by our breast nurse navigator."
