LSUHSC School of Public Health: The Louisiana Breast and Cervical Health Program
After Hurricane Katrina, the Louisiana Breast and Cervical Health Program (LBCHP) was forced to rebuild its administration and services within a heavily damaged health care infrastructure. The people at LBCHP saw this as an opportunity to improve breast care services for the women of Louisiana. The service delivery system now exceeds the pre-Hurricane Katrina model in terms of access for women and capacity. Women now enjoy the convenience of walk-in mammography as well as comprehensive diagnostic services. The new physical space occupied by the Breast Center is larger and offers more privacy for women than before.
"During these tough economic times, we are facing an increasing need for our services, and your donation will help us better serve the women of New Orleans and Louisiana. We appreciate all you have done for the women of Louisiana and the US, and are proud to be part of NBCF's network."
Randi Kaufman, MS, Assistant Director, Louisiana Comprehensive Cancer Control Program
