Mammography

The Ascension St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit partners with several local organizations to provide free screening mammograms to women from underserved populations in Central Indiana. Current partners include Alivio Medical Center, Heart & Soul Clinic, Gennesaret Free Clinic, Gleaners, Hope Family Health Center, Latino Health Organization, Little Red Door, Mama’s Cupboard, Owen County Health Department, Robin Run Village, Raphael Health Center and Trinity Free Clinic. The mobile unit is able to provide mammography services on site at these partner locations, which means patients can receive these services at locations they already visit to receive other healthcare and/or social services. By providing free mammograms in this highly convenient manner, the Ascension St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit is able to maximize the number of individuals from the target patient population who are able to receive these important screenings.

“Our efforts to provide free mammograms to underserved women through the outreach activities of the Ascension St. Vincent Mobile Mammography Unit is directly aligned with the Mission of Ascension St. Vincent to serve all persons, with special attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. Grant support from the National Breast Cancer Foundation plays a significant role in helping us fulfill that Mission.” — Jane Berby-Todd, Clinical Program Director, Outpatient Cancer Care, Ascension St. Vincent Hospital
