MD Anderson at Cooper

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper brings together MD Anderson’s world-renowned expertise and Cooper’s regional leadership in a partnership that opens up a broader range of options for cancer patients in South Jersey, Delaware and the Greater Philadelphia region.  The facility offers expanded programs and services in an environment that fosters a multidisciplinary team approach to medicine. In this dynamic environment, cancer specialists from various medical disciplines conduct concurrent, complementary clinical sessions, fostering professional interaction and collaboration. MD Anderson at Cooper is also home to the most advanced diagnostic and imaging technology available.  Patients benefit from easy access to advanced treatment technologies and a full range of supportive care services including genetic testing and counseling, nutrition counseling, social work services, physical rehabilitation, complementary medicine therapies and behavioral health support.  There is a broadened access to clinical trials and research through affiliations with the Cooper Medical School of Rowan University and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.  In addition to the advanced clinical environment, the cancer center creates a welcoming environment for patients and their families. A scenic, outdoor Tranquility Garden provides patients and families with a retreat to relax in a calm and peaceful environment. Health education, outreach and screening programs are available on site to help build a healthier community.

“MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper has a large underserved minority community consisting of Vietnamese, Indian, Latina and Black residents.  Through our partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, our Cancer Outreach and Screening Program is able to provide several large, culturally appropriate outreach and education events designed to provide education about good breast health practices and access to life saving breast cancer screenings, to women who may not receive these services because of language and cultural barriers. The NBCF grant will also allow us to provide essential navigation services  for our breast screening patients including critical follow up for patients with suspicious findings.  We are extremely grateful to NBCF for their support!”
