HHM Health is a community health center in Northeast Dallas that provides quality, personalized, and accessible healthcare services. Specifically, our location is located in Vickery Meadow – the neighborhood with the highest population density in Dallas, recording 5,743 people per square mile. The neighborhood has been nicknamed “its own United Nations” because its population is heavily influenced by refugee and immigrant communities (Crain, 2011). This is reflected in HHM Health’s diverse patient population. Our service lines include adult medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, behavioral health, nutrition, dental, vision, imaging, and low-cost pharmacy.
We aim to be a one-stop shop for healthcare, particularly for the underserved in our community. The average patient at HHM Health lives at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Our enrollment office recorded 68 languages spoken by our patients, and 47% have limited English proficiency. The demographic makeup of our patient population is 47% Latinx, 25% African American, and 12% Asian. HHM Health continues to target vulnerable patient populations predisposed to many health concerns to make the greatest impact in our community. At HHM Health, we recognize the importance of high-quality medical imaging in patient care. The center is conveniently located in the same building as the Women’s Health Clinic and the Vickery Family Medicine Clinic and accepts same-day appointments.
Our state-of-the-art General Electric (GE) Pristina mammography machine was designed by a woman who understands the stress, anxiety, and discomfort accompanying your mammography exam. As a result, the device eases patient anxiety and provides a more comfortable experience. The Pristina machine has the lowest patient dose of all FDA-approved 3D mammography machines. The convenient design of the system eases muscle tension in patients and improves visual details with lower radiation exposure. The mammography software includes artificial intelligence (iCad) that can help detect questionable areas of the breasts that may require special attention, which improves breast cancer detection rates. The Imaging Center is designed to be affordable and accommodating for all our patients.
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
