Since its founding in 1887, NewYork-Presbyterian (NYP) Brooklyn Methodist Hospital (BMH) has proudly served New York City’s most populous borough, providing exceptional, compassionate, and culturally sensitive care. Today, we remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring that all patients—regardless of background or resources—receive the world-class care that is the hallmark of NYP. Our hospital combines the expertise of Weill Cornell Medicine physicians, skilled healthcare professionals, and the dynamic energy of graduate residency and fellowship training programs, alongside cutting-edge technology, to offer unparalleled care to Brooklyn’s diverse population.

As a 591-bed acute-care teaching hospital, NYP BMH handles 31,000 inpatient discharges, 91,000 adult emergency department visits, 20,000 pediatric emergency visits, and 320,000 outpatient visits annually. Our comprehensive approach ensures that all who seek care with us have access to the highest level of medical attention, tailored to their unique needs.

The Breast Center at NYP BMH offers comprehensive care for both cancer and non-cancer patients, treating individuals with breast cancer, high-risk conditions, and benign breast issues. Each week, our multidisciplinary team meets to provide coordinated care for new cancer patients, bringing together a breast surgeon, medical oncologist, and radiation oncologist in a single visit. In addition to expert clinical care, patients have access to genetic testing, counseling, and a wide range of supportive services, including social support and programs such as art therapy. This integrated, patient-centered approach ensures that individuals receive holistic care from the moment they walk through our doors and throughout their treatment journey.
