Prisma Health Cancer Institute is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer and is affiliated with the National Cancer Institute. Our oncology experts treat all types of cancer. We offer the latest therapy to improve existing treatments and test new medical approaches. Whatever your cancer needs are, we can help. Our cancer experts include: Medical oncologists, Radiation oncologists, Surgical oncologists, Gynecologic oncologists, and Pediatric oncologists. Our nurse navigators are certified oncology nurses who guide patients through diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. They advocate for patients and provide education and psychosocial support around the clock. Our advanced practice providers include nurse practitioners (NP), physician assistants (PA), and certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA). Advanced practice providers can examine patients, diagnose them, and provide some treatments, all of which must be signed off by a supervising licensed physician. All of our nurse practitioners have extensive experience in oncology, ranging from stem cell transplants to clinical research. They are all certified oncology nurses.
