Project VALET (Providing Valuable Area Life-Saving Exams in Town) is a mammography education and screening program for asymptomatic women ages 40 to 74, who are uninsured, without county assistance and who are the patients of participating community clinics.
Project VALET (PV) addresses barriers of cost and transportation by bringing free mobile mammography to the communities where eligible women reside.
Project VALET also provides women with necessary follow-up diagnostic testing if needed, made possible through partnerships with participating facilities.
“Project VALET is needed even more during this pandemic when many folks have lost their jobs and health insurance. Several of our FQHC clinic partners are experiencing a record number of new patients. Overall, breast screening rates are down about 50% during 2020 so maintaining a presence at these community clinics is vital in order to screen as many uninsured women as possible.” — Diane Benson, Project Director
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
