Parkland’s mandate is to furnish medical aid and hospital care to indigent and needy persons residing in Dallas County. At Parkland, community outreach and preventive care are just as important as the medical care provided within the hospital. Parkland’s philosophy to not simply treat, but prevent illness and injury which is an important step in creating a healthy community.
“Because of our partnership with the National Breast Cancer Foundation, Parkland has been able to assist underserved women in need of breast health services. In addition to funding for screening and diagnostic services, NBCF provides funds for a bilingual navigator for our Breast Health Initiative. This navigator is essential in providing a consistent ‘face and voice’ for our patients by scheduling screenings, educating about good practices for breast health, and providing critical follow up with patients who have suspicious findings. We are so grateful to NBCF!” – Karen Anderson, Manager, Parkland Comprehensive Breast Center
Donations are always appreciated, but there are lots of great ways to get involved.
