Frisco ISD & NBCF Announce Student Selections for 2018 Summer High School Internship Program

June 11, 2018 – FRISCO, TX – Frisco ISD and National Breast Cancer Foundation alongside fellow Frisco companies including Careington, Jamba Juice, LaunchPad City, and Verona Villa, are proud to announce the 2018 summer high school internship program student selections. A total of 185 students submitted applications for consideration and a total of 19 were selected for final placement in the program.

“It is important that students see the community engaged and invested in their success”, said Allison Miller, Director, Community Relations FISD, Frisco Education Foundation. “This partnership with NBCF, as well as the other participating businesses and organizations, is providing students with real-world learning opportunities outside the classroom. The interns’ work experiences will add value at the host sites, while also providing students with skills and insight that will help them plan and prepare for college and career.”

“Frisco is one of the best cities in America because of programs like this where the business community partners with the city and school district to better the lives of its students”, said Kevin Hail, NBCF President & COO.

Beginning today, the students will spend six weeks in the program learning about the operations, business, and culture for their organization. The students will be given a final project to complete as a team and will present it to the leaders at their organization at the end of the program.

“LaunchPad City is excited to be a part of such a wonderful program”, said Kedreon Cole, Director of Partnerships at LaunchPad City. “We look forward to working with these talented FISD students and help them develop new skills over the summer.”
