Frisco, TX August 6, 2025 – National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® (NBCF) Board of Directors has announced that Founder and CEO, Janelle Hail, will transition her role to Founder Emerita and Strategic Advisor. With this change, the Board has approved the following succession plan for the Executive Leadership team: Kevin Hail has been appointed CEO, Rebecca Buell has added COO to her CFO role, and Douglas Feil as CPO.

“The NBCF Board of Directors is pleased to announce the approval of this succession plan,” said Lance Hamilton, NBCF Board Member and Treasurer. “Over the past 34 years, Janelle has built a strong foundation and vision for NBCF. We are confident that under Kevin’s leadership, the organization will continue to reach new heights and provide vital help and hope to women affected by breast cancer through their mission of Helping Women Now.”

Janelle Hail, a 45-year breast cancer survivor, founded NBCF in 1991 to provide help and inspire hope to those affected by breast cancer through early detection, education, and support services. Under her leadership, NBCF has helped millions of women in all 50 states and globally through their National Mammography, Patient Navigation, and HOPE Kit programs. Janelle will continue to serve in an advisory role to NBCF.

Kevin Hail has been with the foundation for over 20 years and has made a significant impact in leading the foundation forward in financial growth & stewardship, strategic planning, cause marketing, and technology innovation. Prior to joining the foundation, Kevin held corporate finance positions at KPMG, Interstate Batteries, and business coaching at Buffini & Company. In addition to his work at NBCF, Kevin is a Board Member at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Frisco, TX and a former board member of Visit Frisco.

Rebecca Buell has been with NBCF for over 14 years, and over the past seven years as CFO, has helped to build a foundation of financial strength to support long-term growth and mission delivery. Rebecca helps lead in her industry as a nonprofit executive by spearheading the North Texas Nonprofit CFO Affinity Group, has served as a Board Member and most recently Treasurer for JFS Dallas for over 12 years, and has been recognized by Dallas Business Journal as a recipient of the 40 Under 40 Award and CFO of the Year. 

Douglas Feil is a mission-driven leader with over 20 years in the non-profit sector, including 16 years at NBCF. As Chief Program Officer for the past seven years, he has helped launch and expand life-saving early detection, treatment, and support programs for breast cancer patients worldwide. Douglas also served on the boards of several arts organizations, reflecting his commitment to both health equity and the cultural sector.
