MARCH 28, 2023—Pink-Belt, the 15.2-metric ton Link-Belt 145 X4 excavator that traveled the United States for the past year to show support for breast cancer awareness, has sold to the highest bidder, Randy Denney of Denney Excavating, Indianapolis, IN. Pink-Belt was auctioned at ConExpo on Thursday, March 16, raising a grand total of $375,000 for the cause.

“I have a large number of close friends affected, so it was the right thing for me to do,” said Denney. For over 33 years, he’s relied on Link-Belt machines, having purchased his first excavator back in 1989. “Being a demo contractor, they hold up well in our tough environment and the dealer support is unmatched with Reco; they bend over backward for us,” he stated.

Jay Shafer, winner of the 2020 Pink-Belt Auction, also contributed an extra $10,000 to top off Denney’s winning bid.

“Through the continued support of our dealers, customers, and business partners, we at LBX have been proud and honored to contribute to the fight against breast cancer,” states Eric Sauvage, President and CEO of LBX Company. “We have been supporting the “Yes, Mamm” program, created by CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundation back in 2012, in Lexington, KY, as well as National Breast Cancer Foundation in their common journey to bring awareness for early detection of breast cancer, and increase the survival rate in our communities and in our nation. This year, we reached an amazing fundraising milestone with our Pink-Belt, and we are thankful to all our participants.”

100% of the Pink-Belt auction proceeds go to National Breast Cancer Foundation and Yes, Mamm! by CHI Saint Joseph Health Foundations.

“It has truly been an honor working alongside LBX this year. Breast cancer has touched not only their employees but their customers alike and is evident in how closely they value advocating for NBCF and our mission of Helping Women Now. We can’t wait to see what else is in store for our partnership and how many more women’s lives LBX will touch through their support of our programs,” -Emily Millender, Senior Partnerships Coordinator at National Breast Cancer Foundation.

“LBX has supported our Yes, Mamm! program since its inception and this is their third excavator donation,” said Meredith Herald, Manager of Major Gifts, Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation. “We are so grateful for this generous donation. Our Yes, Mamm! program is essential to providing comprehensive services to cancer patients and survivors, and LBX’s generosity is important in our ability to continue delivering this life-changing assistance.”
