September 25, 2012 – HOUSTON, TX – Rudy’s “Country Store” and Bar-B-Q® today announced that it is transforming its iconic Rudy’s Bar-B-Q plastic cups into the color pink this October in an effort to raise $50,000 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Participating Rudy’s Bar-B-Q locations will be accepting donations from guests who will receive a free 32 oz. drink on their next visit for a minimum donation of one dollar.
Additionally, Rudy’s Follow2Support, the company’s social giving arm, will add a dollar for every new Facebook “like” at https://facebook.com/rudysbbq and on Twitter at https://twitter.com/rudysbbq to the donations collected at its stores. “Through the years, our Rudy’s Bar-B-Q cups have become a popular souvenir for many guests,” said Pete Bassett, VP of Operations at Rudy’s Bar-B-Q. “We invite our guests to visit us this October so they can receive the famous Rudy’s cups in color pink, which is only available while supplies last, and help an important cause.”
This is the first time in the history of Rudy’s Bar-B-Q that it has changed the color of its iconic cups to raise awareness and funds for a charitable organization. Rudy’s Bar-B-Q cups have become a collectible for many of its guests.
