September 10, 2013 – In support of October’s Breast Cancer Awareness month, Uniform Advantage announced that they will donate $1 from the proceeds of 7 different pink ribbon scrub tops and jackets to the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). These 7 items will be comprised of 3 different scrub prints: Messages of Hope Black, Pretty in Pink White, and Butterfly Hope White.
The NBCF was founded in 1991 by a breast cancer survivor named Janelle Hail. She then made a commitment to help women around the world by educating them about breast cancer and the crucial impact of early detection. NBCF is now recognized as one of the leading breast cancer organizations in the world, promising with their slogan “Help for Today…Hope for Tomorrow ®”.
The pink ribbons featured on all 7 of the featured scrub tops and jacket represents breast cancer awareness. It is currently estimated that 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime (1). “As a women owned business involved with the medical industry, supporting breast cancer organizations has always been one of our top priorities. We all know someone who has been affected by this devastating disease, and we make it a point every year to support awareness and prevention in as many ways as possible,” said Lori Dunlap, VP of Marketing for Uniform Advantage.
Uniform Advantage pledged a donation of more than $9,000 from the sale of the pink ribbon scrub tops and jackets to go to the NBCF. The mutual partnership will also be publicized on the UA Gives Back page within the UA website http://www.uniformadvantage.com/a-day-in-scrubs/ua-gives-back/ , print catalog, and their Facebook page www.facebook.com/UAScrubs, with the goal of generating as much support as possible for this distinguished breast cancer nonprofit. Donations made to NBCF directly finance early detection methods including mammograms, an online support community, and breast cancer research programs for women on a national scale.
