May 11, 2018 – FRISCO, TX – National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF), with Presenting Sponsor Nature Nate’s Honey Co., is honored to announce the winners from their Women of Hope Awards Luncheon which was held on May 10th at Verona Villa in Frisco. The 2018 Women of Hope Award winners are:

Advocate of the Year: Someone who publicly supports the cause of breast cancer

·          Sue de Mille Minyard

Caregiver of the Year: A caregiver who puts the needs of others ahead of their own

·          Carrie Himel

Courage/Survivor of the Year: A survivor who has faced their diagnosis with courage & strength

·          Billye Peery

Medical Professional of the Year: A medical professional who goes above and beyond for their patients as they face one of life’s greatest challenges

·          Karen Anderson

Legacy/Family of the Year: Someone who has passed away and left an honorable legacy

·          Gwynn McGregor Family

In addition to these winners, two individuals were honored with special awards from NBCF Founder & CEO, Janelle Hail. Breast cancer survivor, Anne Harris, was honored with the NBCF Founder’s Award for her significant philanthropic contributions in the community and two-time breast cancer survivor, Lillie Shockney, was honored with the NBCF Lifetime Achievement Award for her significant contributions to improve the care of breast cancer patients around the world.
