How can I find a free or low-cost mammogram in my area?

You can search our National Mammography Program directory to learn about partner hospitals that may be able to offer free or low-cost mammograms.

If there is not an NBCF partner facility in your area, visit our breast cancer resources page for other resources.

Additionally, many hospitals have various assistance programs that might be helpful. Call your local hospital and ask to speak with a breast health navigator or a financial counselor to learn about your options.

If you need more guidance, please send an email including your state to [email protected] so we can help you find more specific options.

How can I get financial aid support?

There are several resources that may be able to help with financial assistance for breast cancer patients:

  1. Patient Relief Program (NBCF): Provides support for groceries, transportation, childcare, co-pays, prescription costs, home utilities, and more. Use the National Breast Cancer Foundation’s Find a Facility page, which lists partner hospitals across the country that offer this program.
  2. Patient Access Network (PAN) Foundation: Offers help with medication, treatment, and travel expenses. Visit their website for more information: PAN Foundation.
  3. Cancer Financial Assistance Coalition (CFAC): Connects patients with organizations that provide financial help. You can search for resources in your area at CFAC.
  4. American Cancer Society: Provides lists of free or low-cost mammograms and financial assistance by location. Visit Cancer.org and select your state for local resources.
  5. Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP): State Medicaid program for free healthcare during treatment. Contact your local hospital and ask for a nurse or patient navigator.

If you need more guidance, please send an email including your state to [email protected] so we can help you find more specific options.
