Jessica Baladad found a lump in her breast while performing a breast self-exam in the shower at 33 years old. It eventually led to her breast cancer diagnosis, an experience that has impassioned her to become an advocate for women’s breast health.
In 2021, she launched the Feel For Your Life app to create digital tools and resources to empower others to be more comfortable with doing breast self-exams, getting screened, and making informed decisions with their medical providers.
Jessica routinely speaks to businesses, nonprofits, and community groups about mental health issues affecting survivors, such as getting unstuck, cultivating a solutions-oriented mindset, and post-traumatic growth. She hosts workshops, emcees live events, and leads interactive seminars that challenge conventional thinking on healthcare. Her story is told with tenacity and optimism as she illustrates how she sought opportunities amid uncertainty and adversity.
Jessica studied journalism and psychology in college, where she learned how one’s experiences shape perception and influence behavior. She spent several years working alongside Dr. Henry Cloud to create content that explored how life functions within our emotional, relational, and performance-based capacities.
As a National Breast Cancer Foundation Community Ambassador, Jessica also coordinates breast cancer awareness events in her community to share breast health education and information and promote early detection.
When Jessica isn’t advocating, she enjoys traveling and exploring new places, attending sporting events with her husband, and photographing animals.
