Convoy of Hope
Convoy of Hope provides help and hope to families in the U.S. and around the world through community outreaches, disaster response, and children’s feeding initiatives. The National Breast Cancer Foundation has commenced a 50-state, $50 million community outreach tour in partnership with Convoy of Hope.
NBCF is partnering with Convoy of Hope at community outreach events to educate women about the importance of early detection and let them know what resources are available in their community. In some locations, NBCF is able to offer free mammograms to uninsured women through our National Mammography Program.
NBCF delivered services at 8 Convoy of Hope events in 2012. We trained 227 volunteers and met with over 5,000 women, teaching them how to conduct a breast self-exam and registering them for an Early Detection plan. It is NBCF’s goal to participate in 16 Convoy of Hope community outreaches in 2013.
