October 1, 2018 – In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Badia Spices, one of the fastest growing family owned and operated Hispanic food companies in North America, announced today that they will extend their year-round initiative to fundraise and create awareness for breast cancer in partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.® (NBCF) for the 8th consecutive year.

Badia Spices has devoted this campaign to promoting breast cancer early detection, education and support services. From now through October 2019, NBCF’s logo will be prominently displayed on all 3 oz. Badia Spices Garlic Powder bottles and the company will donate 5% of all sales to NBCF. Through the support of its consumer, this philanthropic undertaking Badia Spices has raised more than $876,553 since the partnership began in 2011. Although that is no small sum in the realm of cause marketing, Badia Spices aims to reach the million-dollar mark in the next twelve months.

National Breast Cancer Foundation was founded in 1991 by breast cancer survivor, Janelle Hail.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1980 at the age of 34.  At the time of her diagnosis, there was little information about the disease, and she was forced to make a decision about her health with few options.  After her treatment, Janelle committed to helping women by educating them about breast cancer and the importance of early detection. Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women in the United States. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. There is currently no known cure for breast cancer, and its early diagnosis is critical to survival.

“NBCF is grateful for the partnership of Badia Spices over the last eight years to support our mission of Helping Women Now,” said Janelle Hail, NBCF Founder & CEO. “Their funds will enable us to continue providing help through our life-changing programs to women affected by breast cancer across the U.S.”

“Breast Cancer affects all of us, through our partnership with National Breast Cancer Foundation, my family and I hope to unite and inspire our consumers to help us make a lasting impact on improving health care,” said Joseph “Pepe” Badia, President, Badia Spices.
